Connor Cemetery Chenault, Breckinridge County, Kentucky Lat: 38° 00' 14"N, Lon: 86° 31' 03"W T6S R1W Sec 9 Contributed by Dennis Lamb, Nov 11, 2006, Last edited Nov 20, 2006 [dennislamb@msn.com]. Total records = 14. From Hardinsburg, drive north on Hwy 259 approximately 15 miles passing through the Yellowbank Wildlife Management Area, and crossing the Yellowbank River. The Mitchell Brother's farm lands are on the left after leaving the Wildlife area. There are several farm houses and shops. Do not get out of the car if dogs are present. This small abandoned cemetery is also known as the Cunningham Cemetery. County records misspell the name as Conner Cemetery. The cemetery is between two farm fields, well hidden in a grove of trees and chest high brush. It has not been maintained and is old with most graves and tombstones hard to find and read. It is possible to drive very close to the Cemetery with permission from the property owner. A four wheel drive or high clearance vehicle is recommended especially after rain. It is suggested that arrangements be made in advance with the Mitchells to visit, because it cannot be assured that someone is always available at the farm. Paul Mitchell may be found in the Stephensport, Kentucky Directory. I walked and read this cemetery on Oct 22, 2006. This includes all existing and legible headstones at that date.
