Vine Daniel Cemetery Martin's Fork, Harlan County, Kentucky Lat: 36° 43' 16"N, Lon: 83° 18' 51"W From Cawood take Rte 987 southwest for about 7 miles, up Martin's Fork (Rt.987) to Gilbert Hensley Rd. (gravel) and turn right. Proceed a half mile and you will go across a 6ft. long bridge in a curve. After the bridge, go about 150 feet to the next right turn (gravel and dirt). As soon as you turn right, make a quick left onto a rutted road until you come to a hair-pin right turn that heads up a mountain. This quarter-mile road dead-ends into Vine Daniel Cemetery. Look leftish. Most of the graves in this cemetery are marked with stones without inscriptions. The Vine Daniel Cemetery is named for the first person interred therein, Vine Daniel. It's an old and reasonably well kept cemetery. New burials are somewhat rare. Ownership is "clannish".
